May 2020: My name is Tony and I am a CPA with a Master’s in management and 25 years of experience as a VP Corporate Controller of a $700M company.  I strongly recommend two things:  

1. First, if you are an executive over 50 and in the job market, start thinking about how you can monetize your skills and abilities without relying on the good graces of some company to “take care of you”.  
2. Second, you can trust that Sarah is working in your best interest because she demonstrates that she is listening and doing her research, unlike her competition.  But, this is a quality you will be able to judge for yourself relatively easily.

I was struggling in the job market for over a year with no success, then I met Sarah Hannah.  I was at a cross-road.  Should I continue my job search sending out hundreds of resumes and LinkedIn connect requests or is there another alternative.  Sarah reached out to me about 9 months into my search but I was not yet ready to give up my quest.  Then I started to do research on options for executives over 50 and the consensus suggested the best avenue is to consult or start your own business.  It’s a shame because usually executives who have arrived at that stage of their careers have dealt with many business trials and tribulations, and consequently have developed sound judgment and an understanding of how to lead and get the job done.  So I came to the conclusion that if no one was going to give me the chance to utilize my skills, talents, and abilities that I would reconnect with Sarah and explore how I could take all that potential and put it to work.

If your situation is similar to mine, you are probably all well aware that there are tons of folks out there looking to help you for a price and with no guarantee.  What distinguished Sarah from all the others was her carefully considered and credible process that might actually work, unlike the others who seemed more like predators banking on your desperation level.  Guarantees are unreasonable under any circumstances, but Sarah’s approach was the best.  The first part of the process was a screening interview where, without any judgment, she obtained an understanding of my skills and preferences.  From there, she engaged her business partner to meet with me and do an even deeper dive.  Next, Sarah and her associate presented a list of 5 different options each requiring varying degrees of capital.  

During the whole process, Sarah was always patient and low pressure even after I rejected her initial efforts.  She would keep in touch and see how my search was proceeding.  On a side note, that’s a great strategy when approaching folks like me, given my circumstances.
